Description: The following illustrators have worked on some of Joe Dever's books and are currently MIA: - Jane Laycock (The Magnamund Companion, calligraphy only)
Until we can contact these artists, we cannot use their work as part of Project Aon. If anyone has any information as to their whereabouts or web presence, please contact Project Aon ( www.projectaon.org/contact.htm) and we will attempt to contact Jane and Trevor and get their permission to use their respective works. Required: The cunning to track these rogue illustrators that have eluded us for so long. Come to think of it, Grand Pathsmanship would be helpful. [Edit: Updated list, Removed found artists.--outspaced] [Edit: Me too.--Thomas] [Edit: Me three.--Simon] [Edit: Me four.--Simon] [Edit: And again.--Simon] [Edit: Removed Trevor Newton from the list.--Simon]

Does the "contact" page works ? I just have sent you a message regarding Paul Bonner but it seems that it has not been sent....
[EDIT]
OK, so, the private messages don't seem to work either (or at least, it works really strangely.) Could any of the administrator mail me at h.al@infonie.fr ? I've got something of great interest.

We are just switching mailing list provider for the volunteer mailing list (where the message should turn up); maybe Jon has done something to the contact form? Or maybe it has stopped working all by itself? :-)
As an alternative way of contacting us in the meantime, you could sent a private message to me and admin ("Project Aon") and it will sooner or later find its way to the correct destination.

I just did an extensive internet search on Cyril. Not much out there, unfortunately. If anyone here is French, you might have an easier time, as I believe that's where he lives. Besides this, I have discovered that you can contact him through 2000 AD, a magazine he (used to? still does?) work for. I put the contact for their group in, um, another post. Let me see if I can dig it up. "Cyril Julien is one of the artists of the magazines 2000 AD and Judge Dredd Megazine. For 2000 AD, he illustrated among others 'Vector 13' and 'Pulp Sci-Fi'. For the Megazine, he mainly did the title character, 'Judge Dredd'." CONTACT FOR 2000 AD (you have to fill out a breif form) www.2000adonline.com/?zone=info&page=contact

Also, isn't it possible that Joe Dever has their contact info?

Also, isn't it possible that Joe Dever has their contact info? He might but I would also suggest contacting the publisher to see if they have any information. However, a better bet might be to find a recent book that one of these people worked on and contact its publisher to see if they know anything. Oh yeah, I just sent in some information on what may be Graham Round's address. It popped up rather quickly when I did a search so I am not sure if it is the same one or if it is current... I really wish that people would list the date that the page was last updated but anyway... If it works out, that will be one less person to find. I will see if I can track down one or two more of these people though. Edit: As for Rob Adams, all I have turned up so far is the fact that in 1999, a Rob Adams was the illustrator for a book entitled Field Guide to the Irish Music Session: A Guide to Enjoying Irish Traditional Music in Its Natural Habitat by Barry Foy. It was published by Roberts Rinehart Publishers. I know this is not much but assuming this is the same Rob Adams, you know what he was doing 5 years ago. This may help someone else track him so I thought I would post it. In the meantime, I will continue my search. Edit #2: I have found a personal site for a Rob Adams who does appear to be an illustrator, so I have sent the link in and hopefully, this is the same guy.

This may be what Richard Hooks was doing in 1998: search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=t82WDueAoe&isbn=0721419739&itm=1It is not much but it is a Richard Hooks, so that may help other searchers. I will see if I can find something more recent though. as for Jane...it looks like she was working on some other books in the mid 80s but then vanished. She could have gotten married and be working under a different name but I don't know right now. Edit: I tried to link to an Amazon search but the link did not want to work so if you are curious, just drop her name in at Amazon and a few books will come up.

Ok, I went and did a World Cat search on Jane and the most recent book it listed her working on was from 1990 entitled Crazy Monsters. The others were from the mid to late 80s. So, that pretty well stumps me. If she continued working, it may be under a different name. Or, given that we don't know how old she was at the time these books were published, she may have retired, gone into another line of work, or even passed on I have yet to do a full google search. I did search for her name and "artist" or "illustrator" but I am going to try just her name by itself to see if I find anyone that looks like a match. Edit: I found a slightly more current book that did not turn up in World Cat: Profiling, Recording and Observingmacmillan.co.nz/books/getbook/0415089654/showbookEdit 2: This really irks me but someone mixed up the names of the authors, so this may be Jane or it may be an error. Compare the authors here to the link above: search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?isbn=0415089662&itm=79

I think I have found Peter Lyon. See www.petelyon.co.uk, which features the cover from Castle Death and has full contact details. Can't promise they're up-to-date however.

By the way, any return on investments, yet?
Meaning, have any of these guys been found with the data provided?
How'd the Cyril thing work out?

Things unfortunately move a little slowly at Project Aon Towers, I'm afraid, not because the volunteers aren't interested, but because we have so few active volunteers. :-\
A letter was sent to the address given for Paul Bonner some months ago, but we have received nothing back as yet. The more recent addresses have been compiled and a standard contact letter is being drafted, I guess, but things might go more smoothly if we had an official Public Relations manager. Anyone want to volunteer? The main thing to remember is that as the "public face" of Project Aon, you'd have to be capable of good formal writing, which is why I have never offered my own services, since I'm useless[/i] at formal (business) writing.
A old draft letter has been posted to the PA mailing list ready for tweaking in case anyone would like to be involved in this.

I would love to, except my time is very not existent right now. I used to be a public relations officer for a law firm, that was like for a summer, and it was a while ago, but I think I remember it all.
Hey, if nobody else signs up, let me know, and I'll take a looksy.

A letter was sent to the address given for Paul Bonner some months ago, but we have received nothing back as yet. I know this is rather obvious but - if that address isn't getting you anywhere - then Paul Bonner has his own website (www.paulbonnerart.com) which gives his email as bonner@mail.dk and his postal address as: Tegnestuen F3 Store Kongensgade 10 DK- 1264 Copenhagen K Denmark Phone: +45 33120031

Thanks, Wolf! I can only assume that the website has only recently come online--either that, or everyone's internet searching abilities at Project Aon are rubbish! Apparently, we didn't have a home address before now, so if the E-mail we sent was consigned to "spam" oblivion, hopefully a formal letter will at least be considered.

Breaking News!!!
Things are definitely happening on the Artist Contacting front. More news as-and-when we have something more definite to confirm.
(LWHistorian, I'll drink to your health tonight, mate! ;D )
