Hey guys,
I have a question for those of your outside the US. Isn't it easier to find coppies of the new order series and some of the older books in Europe? Britain? How bout Australia? NZ? I'm just curious why you guys haven't gone out and bought all of them. If not, do you know where you could pick some of them up? Us here in the US would love to see them, and seeing as its almost impossible to find those books on this side of the lake we'd be more than willing to pay you for your troubles.
How rare are the books over there? They're impossible to find here.

I've being pondering on this. I'm certain there are still New Order books gathering dust on Young Adult shelves in bookshops back home in Ireland. I'm not bothered in buying them, but I'll have to check them out next time I'm home (which might not be for a while - pray that my home county reaches the All-Ireland final, our equivalent of the Superbowl ;D). I'd only be too happy to facilitate the completists who are being ripped off on EBay. The only problem would be: how to choose between the interested parties? I wouldn't ever charge above face value so I think some manner of Internet straw-drawing would be needed

I'm from NZ - I've managed to pick up all of 1-26 either first hand when the series came out, or second hand for pretty cheap. The first 12 books are relatively common, but I found the rest quite hard to get - a lot of hunting through secondhand bookshops was involved. However they are findable.
And I think a second-hand bookshop near me has a pile of Legends of Lone Wolf books if anyone's interested, and if they haven't been sold since the last time I was there. Red Fox editions, anyone interested? I'm not making promises though.

I'm not making promises though. "Oi, deiseach [pronounced 'day-shock', by the way], you said you were going to get me The Voyage of the Moonstone for €10 when they're looking for ninety-nine bucks on eBay". Well no, I never said that and never will say that, but some people here are so desperate that I'd be concerned that any hope of getting the books would be interpreted as a cast-iron assurance

Lotto style. Everyone gets assigned a ticket, then (on a vow of honesty and impartiality) you pick a number from a hat.
Silent auction style. Let people submit one bid on it via email to you. Highest wins....or lowest wins. Hmmm. Strategery.
Buy-it-now style. Put it on ebay at an odd hour, and let the first person to see it buy it. I've gotten #22 for $15 this way a few months ago, and just recently I got #21 and #24 for $35 each this way.

Lotto style would be the only way. I have an idiotic moral code which forbids me making money off other people's desperation e.g. I could have made a mint in the last three years touting (scalping) football tickets, yet I've probably LOST money because I won't sell above face value. I'm sure the bankruptcy courts will factor such altruism into account

I'd sure like to buy the Legends series if you willing to pick them up. I live in the Northern CA, in the US.
But I'd only be willing to probably pay $10 US a piece +Shipping. I just can't bring myself to pay tons of $ for a mass market paper back, no matter how hard i want it or how rare it is. Let me know if your willing. I'd really apreciate it. Seeing as how only a few of them came out in the US! I only have 1,2,3,5 of the Legends.

The cost of them is cheap - they'd be about $3US + shipping. I'll go see if I can grab them next time I'm down there, ok? Though we'll have to discuss how we'll do payment.

Well, I suppose it's my turn to ask politely to be entered into the Lone Wolf Lottery (for lack of a better term). I am very interested in getting my grubby little hands on the New Order series (though I will certainly wash them before I touch the books!) and books 9-12 of the Legends books. I do not have a metric buttload of cash to throw into buying them at their 'going rate' (I have a wife and child to care for), so any reasonable price is a real treat.
Deiseach, thank you for offering to do this for us. Even if you do this wonderful act of generosity and I don't get any books, I do greatly appreciate the efforts!

Since Nerethel voiced my sentiments so eloquently, I figured I'd just steal his quote! Seriously, I'd like to be entered in the lottery as well, seeing as I still need 10-12 of Legends and the entire New Order series except for book 26. Thanks so much Deiseach! It's greatly appreciated that you'd make the effort. Or anyone else who can help, for that matter.

*cringing with embarrassment* [good], the pressure! I mean, I said I'd try to get the books. No guarantees etc. Still, your various kind sentiments have made me more determined to scour the bookshops of Britain and Ireland to help. Begone, evil eBay rip-off merchants!

We should set up some sort of trading service. Lists of who wants what, and who can provide what, that sort of thing. I'd be really interested in getting the last three Lone Wolf books for my collection (27, 28, and Legends 5) though I'm not sure how I'd manage to pay for them... And I haven't managed to get to the bookstore that had all the Legends of Lone Wolf (it's a few suburbs away) but the local one's got The Dark Door Opens, Red Fox Edition, if anyone's interested. I can grab that one any time.

Sounds like a good idea, but...most people will want the new order series...it was never released in the US..which means those books will be in high demand.
But in think it would be good to set up a trade forum. Contact the forum administrators
