It's no secret that Joe Dever is selling a lot of his personal Lone Wolf items. However, he's put the original manuscript for Vampirium up for bids. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2229&item=4211329890Does this pretty much rule out the New Order books being republished? It is possible that he has a "backup copy" of the manuscript (possibly an OCR version) that he could use, but who knows? What does everyone else think about the odds of LW getting republished now? KL, wishing this came up for bids about a year ago when he didn't have a mortgage

Well, the only thing I know is what Matthew Sprange posted here on the Mongoose forum. A tantalizing hint that I'm not sure what to make of ... The Wytch-King, pondering the use of a Kazim Stone

That was last November, surely we'd have heard something at this stage if any publisher was about the reprint the New Order books in 2004. If the RPG is a bestseller, everything will be reprinted, even books 1-20. So it's in Mongoose's interest to associate the reprinting of the books with sales of the RPG

Hopefully he wasn't talking about the Italian Legends omnibus reprints or the Spanish reprints. Though I am heavily considering getting the Spanish versions simply to see the new artwork. The market is ripe for a Lone Wolf revival. I mean, look at some of the other crap that's being published. LW surpasses that by far, and it's 20 years old! I posted in the LW forum at Mongoose just a few hours ago asking about the possibility of reprints. Let's see if I get any bites.... KL [edit following] I just found where I read it. Of all places, on the old PA topica list: "[Joe Dever] _hopes_ to have Lone Wolf republished in English next year some time--which happens to be the twentieth anniversary of the publication of Flight from the Dark." I've been burned so badly in the past when I gave optimism a try...someone else be optimistic for me and I'll just bite my fingernails some more. KL

I fear that eBay will crush any attempt to reprint Lone Wolf by buying up any potential publishers. Bill Gates balked at purchasing The Magnamund Companion recently
Allegedly ;D

*Eep*... Have a look at what I just found at the Mongoose forum ... The Wytch-King, somewhat ... flabbergasted ... ... but hoping that that won't have untoward consequences for Project Aon! Don't do anything I might regret, ya hear?

*Eep*... Have a look at what I just found at the Mongoose forum ... ... but hoping that that won't have untoward consequences for Project Aon! Actually, we already knew that! As far as we know, these free PDFs won't in any way affect the Project Aon editions since they are intrinsically different--they are using a modified rules subset of D20, Project Aon editions are using the original, unchanged rules system. Thus, there's no problem for both to co-exist; particularly so since both are free. Additionally, a while back when we were having difficulty getting hold of anyone to OCR LW17: The Deathlord of Ixia (we eventually found someone to do it), Mongoose said they were willing to make available the original text for our editions. We're not in competition: we're travelling in the same direction. One would hope they choose to implement some of the Project's errata into their editions as well--particularly broken links, incorrect Disciplines, etc. Hope this allays any worry you guys might have.

Amen to that! I hold the Aon editions in highest regards solely for the painstaking work that has gone into each one to make sure they are as close to perfect as possible.

It would seem to me that it's in Mongoose's interest for Project Aon to thrive, cross-promoting the RPG in the process. But seeing as we live in world where big companies routinely crush anything which might be seen to be infringing their copyright, it is refreshing to see one with some foresight Thumbs up for Mongoose, eh?
