BTW - any ideas on the numbers as per my first post? I do not have access to the member list for the PA mailing list at freelists.org, but the Topica list which we abandoned in April (but kept in existence as a backup) has 152 subscribers. Some are probably dead accounts, but on the other hand some may have unsubscribed even if they are still on the new list, and of course some new people have joined the new list since April. I have a feeling that the current number of subscribers to the internal list is quite a bit lower than 152 anyway. Of the 184 members here, there is a handful of double memberships, and at least one triple. I would guess that there's a bunch of people who read the forum but have not registered. Also interesting: The PA announcements list has 1026 subscribers! A fair number of those are probably dead accounts though.

Thanks for the reply Thomas - some interesting stats there that satisfied my curiosity ;D I take it then that the PA Announcement List is seperate to the freelists.org one, which is what I thought you joined when you clicked on the link at the bottom of PA's homepage:-/ To the best of my knowledge I'm only on the freelists list (after transferring over from topica).....I'm not missing anything important I hope by not being on the Announcement List? If I am then off to be number 1027...

Well, I guess you have found out by now, but the link on the bottom of the PA homepage does subscribe you to the Announcement list. Which is still on Topica. We transferred the discussion/work list since Topica started putting no less than two ads in each message of high-volume lists (which the Announcement list is not). Those who have not been on the Announcement list can always check what's been posted there on lists.topica.com/lists/projectaon-announce/read.

Of the 184 members here, there is a handful of double memberships, and at least one triple. TotS just made a purge of its members list, deleting all the members that didn't made a single post since their subscription. The list went from nearly 250 members to less than 100! We should do the same thing here. Hey, it's just a suggestion, you don't need to do it if you don't think it is useful!

Although I have been thinking of asking those people who have obviously registered more than one account if they really need both (or in that one case, all three of them ...
