I LOVE how those old NES carts never seem to wanna work right. I have ROMs and emulators.... I gave my NES to my step-father (they're divorced now, and he took it with him...), so, I hafta D/L the games on here, then I burn them to a CD so I'll always have them. As for the Super NES... I have one, it's sitting here on a shelf beside me (collecting dust), but not that many games, so, I D/L them. Too bad Nintendo gets anal when you do that stuff.... I mean COME ON, they're freakin' old games!

When they release the Revolution, they are going to allow you to download any game they've ever released onto the Revolution and keep it, for a small charge.

That's true. But, I wonder why Nintendo doesn't care if you download a rom and then keep it for years on end?

Even after selling all my Dreamcast and PC-Engine CD stuff, I still have a crapton of games. They've been largely ignored over the past 8 months thanks to my World of Warcraft addiction. The only stuff I play that's not on PC these days is my Nintendo DS. I typically prefer the real thing as opposed to roms, but ONLY IF a suitable video solution exists (analog RGB, which isn't easy to get in the US). My old, composite-only TV just doesn't cut it. It looks god-awful after being used to seeing everything being in raw, uncompressed video, even if the monitors displaying it aren't without their own issues. The biggest issue I have with emulation is the control - it always lags a split-second, breaking certain games (like Super Mario 1). I use a PSX/Saturn -> USB adapter. Most shmups are incredibly difficult this way (with the slight lag, I mean), especially arcade games like Raiden Fighters. www.vgmix.com <--- site is down right now, but you can find some truly incredible stuff there. I tend to go for the metal-y remixes myself (like Ashane's rendition of the FFMQ battle theme), but the site overall encompasses a vast range of genres and playstyles.

That's true. But, I wonder why Nintendo doesn't care if you download a rom and then keep it for years on end? Because those games aren't available any more, and they can't make money off of used copies. Besides, Roms are known for having bugs, and often open the doors for viruses and what not.

Yeah but Cloe, I have over... mm... 700 ROMs... and no viruses so.... yeah. LoL.
Omega, where do you get the USB adapter for like, the PSX, and say a Nintendo64 controller? Please don't say ebay 'cause I never even wanna shop there. I wanna hook an N64 controller to my computer. That'll be badass.

HW's idea isn't so unique, as I know there are a few Finnish metal bands who seem to always be writing lyrics about Raistlin and whatnot... I wouldn't really know though since I don't pay much attention to contemporary metal.
When I was about 10 or 11 I thought of forming a band called the Kai Lords, though I have no idea what kind of music I envisioned us playing.

There's a list of bands inspired by Raistlin here www.dragonlance-movie.com/music/Half of them seem to be Scandinavian power-metal bands, so if that's your thing then dig in.
