Well, God-willing, the next release will be out soon, and then no more problems with the re-released books. (I think you're right there, a lot of people probably try it out, and crash with the first book and give up right there. Oh well, hopefully they'll get back in the loop once book 6 is out.)
As to your other comments - thanks, I appreciate the genuine praise you've given me. As to the making of Seventh Sense, even though I am primarily(entirely?) responsible for its development, I certainly must give due credit to folks like mckinstry, Rahenna, kamikaze, and the numerous forum-goers who have contributed in meaningful ways, both big and small.
For Sommerlund and the Kai!

Good news, everyone! Book 6 is entirely finished, and works great! (all coding for the book and testing is finished). I think the archery contest works really well. I have to say, though, the worst, absolute worst sections to adapt are the ones with gambling in them. What comes across as so easy on paper is so complicated when dealing with absolutes. For instance, most sections have 1 or 2 buttons, while a few more complex ones have 3 or 4. Very unusual to have 5 or 6 buttons (sometimes they are invisible, or not clickable, but they are there doing something!) The gambling section in this one has 20+ buttons. Most buttons only have a few different "effects", or things that happen when you click them. One of the buttons in the gambling section has like 16 effects, but that's tame - I remember one button in a gambling section from an earlier book, it had close to 50 effects! (all of the different possible payouts for all of the different possible combinations of win/lose/ etc. plus resetting for the next round... blah blah...) Gambling sections stink! Don't you all feel so bad for me now?

As promised, here are some pics to whet your appetites! (All images for awards are subject to change... Though mckinstry did make some sweet medals, as you can see.) (the faded blank medals are ones that haven't been earned yet - they turn into the real image once you earn it.) Things are coming along really well. Just tidying up a few loose ends and stuff. I still can't promise any sort of date for a release, but I can say that I'd sure like to do it before school starts back up for me in 3 weeks! Oh yes, and did I mention that there are 70 awards so far for the first 12 books? You can earn over 30 in the first 6, so you guys will have some serious playing to do when the next version comes out! (Once you earn the award, it stays attached to your profile, so you don't lose your awards when you start a new campaign. In fact, you'll have to start new campaigns in order to earn some awards, since some are mutually exclusive - no combats vs. lots of combats, for example.) Well, anyway. Enjoy the pics!

Perhaps a little late, but how about a 'reset awards' button?

Perhaps a little late, but how about a 'reset awards' button? What would be the point of such an action? If you want to reset all of your awards, you can just delete and re-make your profile. The whole point of the awards is to collect them all. Once you've earned it, why would you want to reset it?

Can this weekend get any better? (well, aside from a release LOL) Just had a totally rocking couple days, and this helped top off the pleasure overload. XD My hat off to you for coding this in (and the program itself), and to mckinstry for making the medals look like they belong on Lone Wolf's tunic and wanted posters to shirk away from at a local tavern (or rip off the wall to hang up in the Sun Vault). Perhaps a little late, but how about a 'reset awards' button? What would be the point of such an action? If you want to reset all of your awards, you can just delete and re-make your profile. The whole point of the awards is to collect them all. Once you've earned it, why would you want to reset it? pi4t- The function is on the profile select screen to delete a profile, so it's pretty much like starting a new game like with any game. Dave- It's pretty much to see if you can do it all again. Trying different methods, seeing if you can make different combos, collect them all with a lower number of restarts, etc. I know from my experience as a gamer it makes sense to go back through it all, though I've grown so accustomed to deleting old saves to start anew, I see little point in having a reset button.

I was just thinking that it might be better to have it, in case you add another feature the player might not want to delete.

No more pencils! No more books! No more features' dirty looks...
wait a minute...
If I ever do, I'll add the reset button. You have quite the forward-reaching sight, pi4t!

Been following Project Aon for a few years now, and I just found SeventhSense today.
I registered simply to say: you deserve a medal Dave.
Not only have you made a great tool that increases the books' accessibility and playability, and not only are you actually adding to the scope of playing the series....but you've done such a wonderful job representing Lone Wolf as well. SeventhSense is gorgeous, clean, thoughtfully designed and developed to its logical conclusion. It stays utterly true to the style and flavor of the originals as well. I still can't get over how many options you included, and how every pitfall or tooltip has been covered.
If you're in the software development biz, SeventhSense is something you should be proud to show off as an example of your design work.
You are a true hero of the Kai! So I did my duty and introduced about 30 people to SeventhSense and Lone Wolf via other forums, and the feedback has been all positive, even for people new to LW.
I only hope you can crank out the Magnakai and Grandmaster series in good order, I read up to Book 5 in one sitting today and I can't wait to play more via SS.
PS- If you're up for taking feature requests, it would be awesome to have a campaign stats page. # of deaths, # of opponents slain, total EP lost, total EP damage caused....all that cute stats stuff us data junkies love. Seems like SS stores enough data already all it needs to do is pull it out and sort it for display.

Hooray! And in response to your earlier comment, Dave, in making Seventh Sense you appear to have forgotten about Sixth Sense!

I know it's a little late, but going over the Journal Entries, I came across something that made me think. Are you going to differentiate between the Jakan found in Book 5 and the one donated for the tournament? They'd both probably offer the same -2 CS in the contest, but it's probably a sure bet the one in Book 5 doesn't have the hairline fracture the Jakan in Book 6 has.
