So who is going to adapt the rest of Joe Dever's Lone Wolf gamebooks into novels? Book 9 onwards have yet to be written as novels! Who will be the man brave enow to take on this monumental task?

Strictly from a business POV, nobody will continue the series. It's been too long since the last book came out, and it seems that no publisher is interested in LW novels. Mongoose could be interested, but they are not specialized in novels. Only two of their six Chronicles of Magnamund novels came out and the future of the series is uncertain. They should work on publishing those four remaining books first instead of continuing the Legends.
However, seeing how John Grant keeps on working on the original Legends books (the new omnibuses are the 3rd upgraded version of these novels by the author himself), we never know. Maybe he'll ask JD the permission to continue the series and publish them with the company that is currently making the new omnibuses. Who knows?
And now, for the fanboy POV: hey, maybe someone on these boards could do a novelization of the remaining gamebooks? Are you brave enough to take the challenge? ;D

Or if not, maybe Joe can find a new writer. Surely there's some demand as we can see from this forum.

Are you brave enough to take the challenge? ;D I keep fantasizing about doing that to finish the series since my play through came to an end. . . maybe this summer when I'm stuck on a boat in the middle of the Bering Sea I'll give it a whirl. Would it be publishable work? Hells no, but it'd be fun at least. . . wouldn't be based on the legends, however.

I think a novelisation of Sun Eagle's original lorestone quest is in order, from taking on Vashna to the founding of the kai.

There was a fan-made short story about Sun Eagle's life, I beleive it was at the front of a d20 rules set called the Book of the Magnakai. It's currently hosted on the TotS if you want to check it out.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a re-novelization of books 1-8 that cuts out characters like Qinefer <_< >_> I just find it hard to believe that some random farm girl is more powerful and important than Lone Wolf and Banedon.

People seem to forget that Lone Wolf can wipe out hordes of spawn in the books too, so I don't think she was ever more powerful. It's funny that people seem to hate the women brought in to balance out the male-centric cast though, not sure if it was how they were pitched or if it's just people only wanted to see the book cast and no-one else.

It's like if someone 'fixed' Tolkien by bringing in a few Afro-Caribbean elves & some Asian hobbits because LoR is too Anglo-Saxon-centric. We accept that Dever portrays a male-centric world when we play the books, we don't have to fix that in order to fix our own society. It was never properly established whether there were women in the Kai, but it seems unlikely given the portrayal of Sommerlund. Just think for a second- can you remember ONE Sommlending or Durenese woman that even has a name in the original gamebooks, apart from Madelon: stereotypical Damsel-in-distress? The Lastlands were like medieval Europe- very dominated by men. There is not much evidence that the rest of Magnamund is much different. So the few women in the books should be explored fully; more adventures of Viveka would be cool. Also why does a great character have to be a great fighter- how bout some political intrigues around the court of Queen Evaine? That would be much more agreeable than introducing Mary-Sues that detract from the legendary achievements of the hero.

There aren't many other strong female chatacters but they do improve as the series progresses. Tadia the Prophetess was never wrong (Bk8), Serocca was practically godlike (Bk11), Baroness Coryenne doesn't do much (Bk18) Oriah if nothing else an accomplished horsewoman (Bk21), Derlissa also good on a horse (Bk24). Interesting the comments about the absence of female Kai, of course there is Dawn Light (Skull of Agarash novel), that book also provides us with a glimpse of all seven lorestones glowing again. I'm guessing somewhere between bks 29-32 we shall meet Oriah and rescue her again, apparently the Shadakine are not happy about the new monastery being built and consider it an act of war!

My view is that at the end of the day I would want Joe Dever to write the remaining game books and also I would want Grant to write the rest of the novels.
To be brutally honest I would like to see more mini gamebook tie ins like the world of lone wolf Graystar the wizard books.
I have enjoyed learning about the Kai skills and disciplines, but it is neat to try magic for a bit.
What I would dearly love is a computer game along the lines of Morrowind and its successors, but in Magnamund. The potential would be enormous and with a ready made world it would be totally awesome. You could pick your characters and choose development paths and work to progress to the different levels...
I jst want to know how Banedon gets out of where he is...

I get the impression Dever sort of disowned the Grey Star novels- you never see any reference to them in any Dever stuff apart from the MC. Even in 21 & 22, when you would have thought everyone would be talking about what became of the great saviour Grey Star, he doesn't get so much as a mention. A great shame imao, as I really liked those books. Ian Page's take on The Daziarn is just INSANE!
