Well I haven't actually played any of the games, but I saw my flatmate and friends play them to death. It was good for a bit and then it got very samey, very fast.

Well, which ones did you see? And was is it the gameplay that got old or the story? I can assure you that the stories differ pretty massively between each game.

The story was fine, but the gameplay got old SO quickly it just really wasn't funny.

They didn't translate Sutekidane because it really wouldn't have sounded good in English. Owh.. ic..speaking of languages, I never heard Eyes On Me in Japanese version. Is it there actually? The new FF7? You mean the one I've been advertising for? It's a movie, not a game. Eh? I thought it's the remade FF7. I heard the story plot and game style is better than FF8 (which make the game is still in demand by FF gamers). It only lacks on graphic where characters look childish (yeah, like a 4 years old cartoons). So I thought Squaresoft remake an improved version of FF7 10 and 7 do take place in the same world after all, an unprecedented occurence in the world of Final Fantasy. And believe it or not, FF10 would take place prior to FF7. This one, I've no idea. I don't play the entire series though. Save for FFX-2, the other FF series don't really have storyline connection one to another, until I read your post ;D

Eyes on Me does indeed have a Japanese version, generally considered to be not as good as the English. I don't know, I tend to like the original language of a piece... I can tell you that FFX-2's songs are defenitely better in English, though. No no, FF7 is not getting remade, probably not for a very long time. Square Soft has never remade a game, nor have many other companies. It's popular amongst fans, but generally companies have too many other games going. That said, the movie will be awesome. There were rumours for a long time that FF all took place in one evolving world. Squaresoft (now Square Enix) denied it, but the new revelation that FF7 and FF10 are same world has brought the argument to the surface again. I can go into greater depth if anyone cares to hear it. For the biggest cross over, you'd need to play Kingdom Hearts, where Disney meets FF in a surprisingly good game. And the second one, they've turned it into less of a friendly adventure with people getting their hearts eaten, and more of a noir science fiction fest with people getting their hearts eaten. And who doesn't want one of these coats? www.doupe.cz/vaulty/finalfantasy/pictures/Kingdom%20Hearts%202%20Exlusiv.jpg

Oops, my bad... killed NS... again. To be honest, i'm not sure how to resize an image I found and then post the resized image... since I don't have anywhere to host it myself... But they sure are cool, ain't they?

To be honest, i'm not sure how to resize an image I found and then post the resized image... since I don't have anywhere to host it myself... Some versions of BBCode have various ways to scale images, but it seems like none of them works here at proboards. If you don't have the option of linking in a scaled down version of a large image, I'd suggest just putting a link to the image instead.

Square Soft has never remade a game, nor have many other companies. Never remade a game? Then, when I play FF1 and FF2 on my GBA, you mean that they are not remakes of the original games?

Nope, just a rerelease. There is a difference. A remake is a complete overhaul, whereas a rerelease is just the game released with possibly some updates. In origins case, it's actually a toss up whether the first one is a remake, since the graphics have been overal improved and the text retranslated. But FF2 is a rerelease, as were FF4, FF6, FF5, and Chrono Trigger on the playstation 1. Oh, and I linked the photo, you can come out NS

if you have the sommerswerd with weaponmastery in swords, do you get 11 CS points instead of the 10 when you had weaponskill?

(Brief hiatus from video games and death threats and back to the original topic) If you have weaponmastery in any type of sword, you get the bonus when you use the Sommerswerd. (Now preparing to go back to video games )

Rikku? Wasn't that the guy in Kingdom Hearts who started out as your best friend? Wish I hadn't missed the Yuffie avatar, she was a lot of fun in that game! @bc: Very cute, the Zipp-a-bomber! LOL! Well, I've said my piece, and finally caught up on threads. I'm going to bed!

if you have the sommerswerd with weaponmastery in swords, do you get 11 CS points instead of the 10 when you had weaponskill? Yeah, +8 for the Sommerswerd, +2 for Weaponskill in the Kai Books, and when you acquire Weaponmastery in the Magnakai Books, the +2 jumps to +3. At Archmaster rank it becomes +4 (see here) and upon acquiring Grand Weaponmastery at Grand Master level, the bonus rises by one to +5. So at Magnakai level you have +11 with the Sommerswerd and Weaponmastery; at Magnakai Archmaster level you get +12 with the Sommerswerd and Weaponmastery; and at Grand Master level you have +13 with the Sommerswerd and Grand Weaponmastery.
