I think I died twice playing book 2. But as I played it about 8 or 9 times I sort of figured out what worked. Hey!I died just because of my self righteous pity to Rhygar and gave him the precious magical spear (@ least for that time), without animal kindship to evade the helghast That was a bad day i think one of the hardest ones for me was Wolf's Bane, I died most of the time I played it and only got through it about 2 times. hellebore I'm highly disagree. Have you ever encounter fights with Zakhan Kimah, Chaos Master and Deathlord Ixitaaga? If you haven't, then I doubt you know how powerful they are....

People here hate Ixitaaga and the Chaos Master. I personally hated Gnaag before I got the Sommerswerd - the only way to beat him (playing 12 as a solo adventure) was a VERY long string of 9s and 0s....

Book 2 punishes anyone who takes Camouflage and tries to heal the wounded "man" without attacking the Szalls first. This guarantees (unless you cheat) that you will never get the Magic Spear. And without the Magic Spear (which is also easily bypassed through other choices), any Lone Wolf without Animal Kinship will just not survive Tarnalin (all Sixth Sense will do is warn you of your impending doom, really ). Since the combat you must fight to win the Magic Spear is rather difficult to win if you don't have Weaponskill: Spear and/or a really high CS, I guess folks wanting an easier time of it should ensure they choose Animal Kinship as one of their disciplines before beginning Book 2.

Well, one of the JD interviews said that Joe was trying to put across the point that LW has a difficult job to do, none of which was nice and some of which was completely unfair, including the famous axiom "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few". That said, I never EVER take the Animal Disciplines NS. Edit: Welcome to PA, Nukenin! I love your Lego Samurai avatar, even if he is in thoroughly Western full plate!

The whole issue of giving up the spear to Rhygar is actually indicative of a number of situations throughout the series where Lone Wolf pretty much looks out for himself first and foremost in order to get ahead. I mean, the mission is everything, but usually Lone Wolf doesn't seem to have a problem with striking down guardsmen, knocking out peasants to take their stuff, or pretty much stealing anything useful that he comes across. It's actually pretty amusing how many times you're given the opportunity to be unheroic (or downright villainous) without repercussions. This just happens to be the first life-or-death instance of doing for himself before he does for others.
