Hi everyone,
I looking for informations (any kind of infos is welcome) about the Kai Monastery : - Hoe many Ka lived there (i read rond 500, it seems to be a little too much, isn't it ?) - What is the age of the monastery ? Was people living inside before the Kai ? Is there a history of the Monastery ? - Is there a history of the Kai Order ? I read that there was 4/5 leading masters... do you more informations about them and their roles ? ...
Thank for the answers... Falconbe

The Monastery was built in MS3810 by Sun Eagle, the first of the Kai. So no one lived there before the Kai did. That's also the age of the Kai Order.
There isn't a written history of the order as such, but there are various timelines. The one in the Magnamund Companion gives us the following information.
MS3799 - Battle of Maaken, Vashna and Ulnar I killed. MS3810 - Kai Monastery built. MS4219 - The Siege of the Kai Monastery (no info is available on this event at all) MS4434 - Book of the Magnakai lost (this event is detailed in the Legends book, The Tellings) MS5050 - Massacre of the Kai, Defeat of Zagarna (Books 1 & 2)
The history of the Kai from that point onwards is detailed in the LW books.

Hunting Wolf (Yeah, just like the title of one of the books, but who cares. I like it.). I just joined the forum. Been reading the books ever since I was like, 13 or so. I think Dever and Grant are the greatest writers in the world, or to have ever existed. I have yet to order the Legends series, though I DO have books 1 & 2. They're awesome. I'm 29 by the way. Maybe I'm too old for the board, but I don't care. I'm into medival and fantasy stuff, and mostly metal music. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. Write me back, say hi, 'you're a nut', whatever. Heh.
HW
PS.... Any women read the LW books?

Too old for the board?? Are you insulting the rest of us loon--er, more mature fans of Lone Wolf? Welcome to the boards, HuntingWolf. There's no such thing as too old!

Hi, you're a nut...just like the rest of us. A fair number of us are in our 30s, so don't feel odd. Falconbe poses a good question--one that I don't have time to research. Has any consolidated work ever been presented dealing totally with the monastery and the two orders of the Kai? There are bits and pieces of info everywhere.... KL

Of the used LW titles I have purchased there are like 3 with inequivocally female names filled in in the Owner's Scroll. So yes, at leat at some point in the 90s women did read LW

Plot diversion is an occupational hazard here, Falcon! Have you got the Magnamund Companion? It might well answer your questions.

As a new member I don't know if I am stating the obvous, however, the Companion has a cut away diagram of the original monastery, and there are quite a few .... suggestions. For instance the round table in the Lore Hall of Solaris contains approx 12 chairs, the Lore Hall of Fire contains a single table with no chairs ( I would have expected this Lore Circle to be the 'biggest' espesially because when "I am Lone Wolf" Weaponmastery and Huntmastery are the first two disciplines I would select ( and thus pick up Lore Circle of Fire and it's benefits). Anyway , for all you people, look forward to seeing the Companion !I bought mine about 15 years ago (second hand) and it is full of interesting info that will help to show how the Lone Wolf books matured

I ran out of space, but continue, the only ideas I have found relating to the new monastery (post Zagarna) is an illustration in "Dawn of the Dragons Ill xv" and the underground chamber used to store the Lorestones ( also Book 18 Ill xx). Finally as a member, I am 35 ( another loon... er mature fan) I started at age 12 with Book 1 ( the old one by Sparrow Publishing and still own the original). I own every game book up to 27( except 4, and it is my favorite!) and earlier this year purchased the role players core rules and darklands book for d20. Joe Dever and Gary Chalk are legends. Magnamund is a unque world that I enjoy visiting. Get well JD !!!

One day many years from now, Joe Dever, Gary Chalk, Paul Barnette(sp)/John Grant, and the others who've written about the world of Aon, will be remembered as demi-gods. I myself think they already are demi-gods. Who's with me? Anyone?
