Hi guys. Here's a gamebook trivia game for all forum users! It's one of those very common forum "chain quizzes" where somebody sets a question and somebody else responds, answering the question and setting a new one (and so on). I think this'll be more interesting if we make it about all gamebooks, not just Lone Wolf/Dever. It would also be a good idea to ask questions which aren't total spoilers! So here's an easy one to start us off: In the Sorcery! books, what does DOZ do? (say that ten times fast!)

Hm, thought I knew, but when I looked I was wrong. . . I'll say what my wrong answer was later, after somebody who got it right posts. Guess I don't get to ask the next question. I'll try again next time.

Gah, I don't even own that one! Don't even know what the series is about. Is this the one with the spell book? I feel discriminated... maybe I'll come back by asking you about the Silencer series If you didn't catch the sarcasm, I don't really care. Imma take a guess anyways. DOZ summons a fantastic cuisineart from the future to make fruit smoothies which heal 55 EP or can be used as a long range weapon in combat. No? Then, I guess it'll probably be some sort of slow spell, that may be cast upon any creature, reducing its movements and reactions to about a sixth of its normal speed. Or maybe it's short for 'doze?' Then it would be a sleep spell, I guess.

Outspaced - if you know, say what it is! There's no buzzer. Then, I guess it'll probably be some sort of slow spell, that may be cast upon any creature, reducing its movements and reactions to about a sixth of its normal speed. Is the right answer (suspiciously word-perfect in fact!). I have decided to ignore your original "guess" in favour of getting things moving ;D The world awaits your fiendish question, Mr Zipp...

Is the right answer (suspiciously word-perfect in fact!). I have decided to ignore your original "guess" in favour of getting things moving ;D The world awaits your fiendish question, Mr Zipp... Well, I do admit to knowing a bit more about the books then I let on, though just the spells. It just so happened that about a week ago, after rereading the thread where someone got ZAPPED, I decided to check out what it meant and came across a site with all of the spells. Since I read them so recently, I remembered this one. Also, because I always thought it should stand for doze. Okay, my 'fiendish' question. You first encounter the Vashna cult in book 4. When is the next time that you can encounter them?

Okay, my 'fiendish' question. You first encounter the Vashna cult in book 4. When is the next time that you can encounter them? BOOK 6!

Yeah, I figured you'd catch that one. The all-too obvious answer is, of course, book 16. For a bonus, does anyone know how many times between 4 and 16 you meet the cult?
Oh, and it's your turn for the question, Black Cat.

Other times were you meet the Vashna Cult that I remember are book 6 and book 13. Maybe you meet them also in book 10, 12 and 14, but I'm not sure of that.
Ok, my question. That's not a hard one. How many times can you meet Gwynian in the 28 books of the series?

Imma guess four, which may be incorrect because I haven't read the Grand Master series in a while.
First time in Chasm of Doom, in a little hut at the begining of the adventure, again in Kingdoms of Terror, when he helps you out of the city, I'm not sure where the third one is, but I know that it's somewhere in there (maybe the Dungeons of Torgar???), and finally when you face the Acolytes for the final time, in the Legacy of Vashna.
But that's just as Lone Wolf, I don't know if you meet him in the NO, though I would assume you do.

Sorry, but your answer is wrong, Zipp. But keep working on this.

I'm going to go for five. The four I know about (see above) plus one I don't!

Ok, to avoid guesses, I'll ask for people to actually name the books where you meet Gwynian.

It's five. Books 4, 6, 9, 16 and 18.
