I think they have a decent description of Elzian in #21 also. Re: Tahou/Zaaryx--two cities in one, that's part of why it got my vote!

I think they have a decent description of Elzian in #21 also. No, I played it few days ago and it was written (end of book 21) something like: "finally you arrive in the magnificient city of Elzian". Beginning of book 22: "you have 3 days to make sightseeing in the wonderful city of Elzian". But Joe never tells us why is so magnificient ;D

They give it a bit more detail in #22 (the ascension, the parting day), but you're right, it does leave a bit to be desired.

Varetta would've been my vote. Start from section 100 of book 6, entering Varetta at dusk, and enjoy your exploration from there... ahhhh Tahou is a close second.

I vote for Tahou! I like Port Bax, too, however. It is just so fun to wander around in circles for hours. If you do this correctly, you can heal all your endurance back (using Healing) since you could conceivably pass through 100 numbered sections or as many as you like! Just like when Mario found the room full of Extra Lives in Super Mario 3.
