It looks like I might have a couple more issues with crashes, but it seems like I should release the currenct fixes, since it helps with two big issues (profile menu crash and Archery contest standstill).
So, momentarily, I'll post the 1.6.1 bugfix.

Sorry, when I finish book 1, it crashes when I try to go to book 2, losing my saved data too.

Well, that's entirely different. So, it crashes before your data is saved? Are you able to quit mid-book, and have it save correctly? If you do so, and resume your game, does it still crash when you go to book 2?
I may be very helpful for me to have copies of your profiles.dat and any/all resumeX.dat files in your data/profiles folder. Would you mind sending them to me via email? It will make the bughunting much faster! Thanks!

topel, it will help me to have your resume.dat file. Sorry for the trouble. So, it loads your game just fine, but then crashes on you clicking play next book? (You are on book 5, going to book 6?) And in main menu, clicking profiles crashes? Man. Would you send me your profiles.dat file, too? Both files should be in your User/Documents/Seventh Sense/data/profiles folder. Sheesh. Profiles are working with the new bugfix. I have send u my resume.dat via email.

*SPOILERS* Btw here are my observations after playing: Awards are great but I think some of them need at least a bit of rewording. For example in the second book I did every fight possible in gorn cove and also didnt atack parsion and still it didnt trigger. So my guess is I also have to eat the poisoned food? In which case the award should say: "U might have been angry someone posioned u"... Not tried to poison u :-D Also I still havent figured out what I should do to complete the 3rd award in the 1st book and it just isnt fun to try it 10 times when I am clearly missing something out. And another thing is that restarting the books works kind of strange. 1st thing: When I die in book 2 and have already finished it before, then if I select "Replay this book", book 3 starts :-P 2nd thing: Restarting any book with saved data is a great idea but after 1st playthrough I wanted different disciplines for book 2. So i played book 1 again and then when I selected replay book 2 with saved data, there were still the disciplines and items from the 1st playthrough. I think it would make more sense if it rewrited. I hope this post makes sense I am kind of tired. :-D Still I really love the new release! THX

Profiles are working with the new bugfix. Good to hear, thanks for the email. I hope I can fix the issue ASAP! As far as other bug reports go - I found a couple minor ones myself. First, you couldn't pick all of the colors in the Font and Misc Option menus (fixed now). And second - often, clicks would not register in the menus (mostly with only certain buttons, oddly). This is vastly improved now for the next version.

Bugs found in 1.6.1 so far: - Sect 270. Huntmastery works, but on the 3rd round the surprise attack penalty was removed, giving me 2 extra CS that I shouldn't have received. - Sect 254. Same as above. =) - Sect 77. I ate all 3 handful of the Alether Berries before this fight, just to see if I could (and I could! I curbstomped those pirates ). I'm not sure if this is intended. - Achievements. I got the Castle Taunor one upon book completion, but it just appears on the profile awards page as a transluscent red block. Same with what I assume is the notification on sect 350 (an opaque red block), and the details window that appears when I click on it. Upon death, can there be an option to skip to the next book, forefitting all items and the bonus discipline you get for completion? Would certainly make the Magnakai discipline/rank system a bit more interesting.

Not tried to poison u :-D Also I still havent figured out what I should do to complete the 3rd award in the 1st book and it just isnt fun to try it 10 times when I am clearly missing something out. You've given me a fantastic idea. Ever seen the Infocom games from the 80's (text adventures)? They had these hint books to help you solve the puzzles. They were written in invisible ink, so you couldn't see the hints unless you scrawled across them with the magic pen that came with the book (Invisiclues, they were called). When you had a problem with a puzzle, you could use the marker on the first hint, and if that didn't help, you could use the second hint, and so on. The hints went from general to more and more specific. That gives me a great idea for some "invisiclues" style hints with the medals. Once again, I'll run the idea past kamikaze before running with it, but I think we're on to something here... I eventually did figure out what you were saying - I'm tired, too! Both issues stem from the same cause. When you go back (restore to a previous book's backup), the game needs to erase any saved campaign points that occur *after* that point. But let me get this straight - the only way to restart on book 1 is to choose the "Start over on a previous book, tossing any saved campaign data.", which *does* erase all saved campaign data. So, how did you choose to "replay book 2 with saved data" after that?

Not tried to poison u :-D Also I still havent figured out what I should do to complete the 3rd award in the 1st book and it just isnt fun to try it 10 times when I am clearly missing something out. The award in book 2- you don't need to be poisoned, remember the clue: "You might of been angry someone tried to poison you, and even more so you don't know who, but you might not have had to take things that far." And there are multiple ways to achieve this. The award in book 1 with the clue "Tempt fate where only your skills and a little luck will save you from the reaper" is an expert-level award, requiring an intimate knowledge of the various paths in the book. Even those who know the book like the back of their hand and know where to go will curse my name on this one. ;D Some awards are easy, intermediate, difficult, or downright "Why are you doing this to me?" However, none are impossible (though some fall squarely in the extremely improbable range, where only die-hard addicts need apply- one award in book 3 qualifies near the worst on that list. Muwahahahaha- err, I mean good luck ) Any future awards-based problems, please direct towards the awards system thread, so as not to jam this one up. I'm testing them all, and so far they all seem to be as I figured. Also, it'll be fairly easy to know if it's an actual bug or not.

- About the Undead Summonation fight: I tested it yesterday another time. It really doesn't subtrack -2CS in the beginning of the fight, but in the third turn, it removes -2 penalty from combat ratio. So maybe you get +2 CS bonus after 2 round of combat...
- About the "boasting award" in book 6, I got it now, but (maybe just for me) its description implies you should visit section 182 :-)
- The Guardian of Castle Taunor award has no image at all, only red square (blank area)...

Same with what I assume is the notification on sect 350 (an opaque red block), and the details window that appears when I click on it. Sec 270 && 254 - Hey, is this the first time in the Lone Wolf books, that you get a penalty that only lasts a certain number of rounds AND is based on having a Discipline? Because I could swear it's happened before, but seriously, no-one ever caught this until now. Not even me! It was a small omission in the combat code, now fixed. Thanks for catching that! sec 77 - I also am amazed that no-one has caught this until now, either. You should not be allowed to use more than 1 CS-boosting potion/item per combat. That is now in effect for the next release. Award: Aha! I shamefacedly admit that a simple reversal-typo in my code caused this. The file name for this medal (and several other minor awards) is "medal_generic", but in my code I said to look for the file "generic_medal". Now fixed! You'll get to see your real award in the next release! Thanks for the excellent bug-finding and thorough reporting! Well, I won't be implementing the ability to skip a book. But I'm tossing around the idea of giving awards for starting a book without having played any of the previous books. That should be a real challenge on some of them!

Just tried 1.6.1 release. Works great, archery contest is now OK.
But (just a suggestion). When you have no GC, and you're selling your equipment (book 6 section 76 and 98) when you selling weapons, you could easily sell also weapon-like special items (Sommerswerd, Dagger of Vashna, Magic Spear, Jewelled Mace, Silver Bow of Duadon).
Could there be a popup menu, for example, if you choose to sell a bow:
which item to sell? - Bow - Silver Bow of Duadon
You could do this bartering also in book 2 in Ragadorn, but this time you cannot have any weapon-like special items, so it doesn't matter.

By pure chance, have just discovered a bug in book 1. Section 34, my +2CS for Mindblast wasn't added. There's nothing in the text to indicate you can't use it, unlike with other Vordaks. Still, it didn't use its on me, so never mind, it made no actual difference to the combat. It would be nice to see the addition and subtraction to and from my CR, though.
