Irian - An island in Indonesia. Fenor - Scottish surname. Dyce - Scottish surname, a village in Scotland. By the way, loved the 'Ronan' bit.

What I thought was a little peculiar about the series was the names in the series. My fathers name is Kai. A little strange for an order to be named The Kai masters then.

Is your last name really Odin? And isn't Odin the name of a Viking God? Then, your father's name is Kai Odin, a name made of two mythological Gods. He is twice a holly man ;D

Baraja (pronounced Barrak(h)a) is a Spanish family name. (Commiserations, Spain.) However, I think that that name comes from Arabic 'baraka', meaning luck. It is used when somebody comes out from any accident or incident miraculously unharmed.

I also found 'Ronan' on a list of Celtic baby names. It means 'a pledge'.

Let's not get OTT here After all, the more names you use, the more likely you are to either subconsciously copy a name, or "invent" one very similar. For example, Eilden is the name of the Dark Elf king in Fighting Fantasy's Titan; Filden was the name of a High Elf king I once used. *shrug* NS.

Shianti...looks like chianti, an Italian red wine. I'm italian: Chianti is spelled Kianti (Ch = k in italian), Shianti with shhh (I hope ;D). But a friend of mine went to Ghana: there live Ashanti, very old population of Africa.

Kelis (a city that appears on the Northern Magnamund map in Book 11 and Legends 1 but doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere in the text) is also the name of an R&B/hip-hop singer.

But she borrowed her name from Magnamund, not the other way around. Damn plagiarist. However, the name might have been based on 'Kells', a place in Ireland. -GB

Ok, but in French, we say chianti like we say shianti. It's the same pronunciation. ok, but you french are wrong: we don't pronounce kampagne ;D also joe dever is english; the same for Kelis: that singer came out 2-3 years ago, so it's impossible that this name is borrowed from her.
