No offense to the newer artwork, which is great, but for my part I'll take Gary Chalk any day. The original and best.

I submit in that this is what you are personally like, maybe due to a sense of nostalgia. I completely understand because I grew up in the 80's reading and visualizing Chalk's work, which at the time I truly enjoyed. But, the current work that "modern" artists are putting out is astonishing and can really bring Lone Wolf forward to newer readers in way's that Chalk's work, unfortunately, cant. Gary Chalk had his time, at it was great, a legend in Lone Wolf. Like the great heroes of the past, they must pave the way for new heroes to "take up the mantle" Of course, this is all my opinion and yours is just as valid. Opinions should be like the rainbow, different and diverse so when you look at them as a whole you see the beautiful tapestry of life. Or in this case, "Lone Wolf" Cheers

Hi ! Just to say I received mine last year (April or May) and I'm really satisfied ! Why saying it so late ? Because my daughter just finished it and wants me to buy the next volume ! That reminded me I should have post a good report here, so here am I !

She can really help bring our universe to a wider audience. I support this 100%

I agree that it comes down to personal preference and nostalgia plays a big part of that. Hopefully a new generation of Lone Wolf fans will be as attached to the new illustrations as us kids of the 80's are to the originals.

The German LW editions from Mantikor showed that good alternative Artwork is possible. I wonder if any sequel for Autumn Snow will come eventually!?

Given that Joe Dever and his son have blessed this project and that Joe Dever even edited and "augmented" the first book, The Pit of Darkness, I think this topic should be moved to The Books and the World as it is Magnamund canon at this point.

I find I really enjoy playing as Autumn Snow. She comes off as a somewhat more relatable, more human person than Lone Wolf. She has moral qualms. She appreciates the opposite sex (when Lone Wolf sees someone as beautiful, he may as well be appraising a piece of furniture). She's sensitive to the idea that what she wears influences peoples' thoughts about her. While she's a clever, tough, deadly Kai Lord, she's still also a teenage girl in the best way.

For anyone who is looking for the second volume of Autumn Snow, it is available on Megara’s site now. I just ordered my copy, I expect to receive it in a few weeks.

My books just arrived. Super-impressed with the speed! Will post (spoiler-free) impressions this evening once I’ve had time to browse them. I’m on the fence with Gary Chalk’s illustrations. I’m one of the people who didn’t care for the originals, particularly his renditions of ladies. That being said, his new work looks much more delicate and less stylized, so I dare say I’m actually looking forward to it.
