Another idea for inspiration: create a scheister character modeled after Mikael. It might give you a place to vent your frustrations, and those of us that know will get a little bit of satisfaction in offing him in many creative ways! 👍 If he defeats you he takes all your gold and goes to karaoke.

Yes! but there must be creative ways (possibly a bonus section?) to defeat said scheister (e.g. if you choose to break his air conditioner turn to... or you notice mold in his office if you wish to hide it so he can get sick turn to...)

There is no way to defeat him. Rumour has it that even when the AC broke he used the office for D&D sessions.... Once you select "Fund his Kickstarter by turning to XXX" all paths lead to defeat.

I agree with that entirely, but it would be entertaining I think to play it out and be the one to break his AC and then join the D&D game just to ruin it And yea maybe the "Fund his Kickstarter" part would be "The Story so Far" for a bonus adventure. I would buy it, as long as it was sold by anyone other than said scheister.

He's charging $20 for a pdf of Autumn Snow? The robbing &£$%.
Just to say if anyone wants a copy of either AS book in pdf, I'd be happy to supply one. Since Oiseau's not getting royalties, the only person who is losing out is Mikael at Megara. And he owes me two books.

I was going to answer 350 sections for book 3 and book 4, then 400 for book 5 (the same as LW books 1-5) but if you've already got the sections created/mapped out, go with the higher amount. It's so much harder to cut than to add.

greg: I'd love PDFs of AS1 and AS2. I bought the hardcovers from Megara (and think they're brilliant), but after losing a lot of books in a flood years ago have developed a habit of acquiring digital copies of physical objects when possible.

Hello. I've been trying to figure out how to buy AS and finally found this thread. Are pdfs an option? I'll definitely buy any hardcopies that Ben might make through Magnamund.com but in the meantime would love to play these.

Hey there, Oiseau . At this point you may have moved on from Autumn Snow, but for what it's worth I wanted to let you know that you've made one ten year old girl very happy. I'm a single dad of an eleven year old boy and a ten year old girl, and every night (like, every SINGLE night) since they were 3 and 2 years old I've told them a story right before bed. I started with simple stuff (3 Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, etc.), but as they've aged I've had to tell increasingly elaborate and lengthy tales to keep them satisfied. To name just a few, we've done Greek mythology, Norse mythology, King Arthur, Robin Hood, the Arabian Nights, Les Miserables, The Way of the Tiger gamebooks, stuff I make up myself, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Grey Star, and of course the complete works of Joe Dever. It's the best time of day for both me and my kids, and for the last four years or so they won't let me get away with less than 25-30 minutes of storytime each night. Both of my kids love it, but my daughter especially loves stories of adventure... while at the same time she's gotten old enough to be constantly frustrated at the lack of strong, competent female characters present in these stories that I grew up with. I'm definitely doing something right in how I'm raising her Anyway, being able to tell her the story of Autumn Snow's extant adventures was something she ate up every night, and it was truly a pleasure getting to see her grin as she lay tucked in bed, ready for each night's edition. We both hope you'll finish your saga, but we also understand how hard it can be after what you went though with Megara. No matter what, thanks for giving us a female protagonist to follow through Magnamund! P.S. My son came over right before I posted this and demanded that I note it shouldn't be "we both hope", but rather "all three of us hope". I guess I'm raising him right, too!

For what it's worth, I'm glad your kid likes it.
It's not so much that I've moved on from Autumn Snow. I would still like to finish the series, and even continue it into the Magnakai years. I just can't get myself motivated. Everytime I decide to get back into it, the drive sputters quickly, and messages like yours are too few and far between to sustain it. It doesn't help that years have passed — the rose-colored glasses have come off. I used to see Lone Wolf as a fun and nostalgic series, full of the 'sense of wonder' I remember from my youth. Now… well, let's just call me a cynical old man, running on fumes and desperately wishing it could be fun again.
The worst part is, every single one of the Autumn Snow books is almost finished, like 80% or more.
Oh well… I guess I'll try again, while your post is still fresh in my mind…
P.S. The Megara situation did not directly affect me. They didn't put me through anything. I wasn't even aware the company was imploding until the very end of the drama. Anyway, as far as I understand it, they just respawned under another name (Brocéliande Éditions), did they not? I had a quick look, and their new website still sells Autumn Snow (although I think it's just the PDFs).

I wonder what are the laws regarding copyrights: you have allowed a company to publish your books and now a brand new company is publishing them, but you didn't sign a deal with that new company... I know you might not want to get involved in a battle in court over that but I'm still curious.

Is it possible to still order the English version of the hardcopy from somewhere? I think my daughter would enjoy this as well.

I also notice he doesn't take Paypal, so he doesn't have to give out pesky refunds when books don't turn up. {sarcasm mode on} But it's all okay because this organisation is a non-profit. Obviously those checks that he takes for payment are all in a good in cause! {sarcasm off} It's not my work he's making money off but he makes me angry. Actually thinking about it, its my Kickstarter funds he made money off.

I'm not sure how it works legally. To my mind, the thing with Brocéliande is just Megara renamed to escape the fallout from whatever stunt he tried pulling on the Kickstarters. I mean, nothing else has changed, it's the same website and the same books. I'm guessing there are legal or semi-legal shenanigans behind this, but you're right, I don't want to get involved. Should I ever manage to finish the series, I'll look and see who should get the publishing rights. Any structure associated with Ben Dever will get priority as far as I'm concerned. And hey, I actually managed to write a few more sections.
