I'm not sure how it works legally. To my mind, the thing with Brocéliande is just Megara renamed to escape the fallout from whatever stunt he tried pulling on the Kickstarters. From what we can read from its legal status (available in French here: link), it was created last May. I seem to remember that Megara was not an association like Brocéliande but a limited liability company (LLC). The shapes of the two companies are different but you are right to say that, all in all, is just the continuity of Megara. However, since the companies are different, my point that you did not negociate rights with the new entity that still sells your work still stands.

... Now… well, let's just call me a cynical old man, running on fumes and desperately wishing it could be fun again. The worst part is, every single one of the Autumn Snow books is almost finished, like 80% or more.
Hi Oiseau, maybe we can help? I might be wrong, but to me it sounds as if some interaction with other people who are passionate about the world you made. I would be interested in playtesting and providing feedback, and I am sure some others would chime in here. Between us cynical old men, with some younger folks, we could continue on it. I still think, your world is great and your healing system is much superior to the original book. Now I just need to find out, how one can write private mails in this forum...

also some support and interest in the books FB Gamebook page that yesterday discussed the use of Gary Chalks art.
Robert Drake: ... really great books
Ian Berger: I only have Autumn Snow #1 but really like the copious use of illustration. ... The adventure itself is also pretty good- I would welcome more by the same author. The sequel to the first was meant to be “Slaves of the Mire” but this was nudged back by the “Wildlands Hunt” which was printed as #2. Does anyone have any contact with Martin Charbonneau? He may have written it after all?
Michael Travis: I'd still love a copy of these!
Joe Kelly: Me too. I didn't buy them from Megara ....

Can't access the Facebook site, it's private.
Yeah, interaction with other people would be nice… although it's not the world I made. I mean, Joe Dever made the world, I just borrowed it for a while.
I've made some slow-crawling progress on the other books since the last time, but nothing to write home about. I'm a little frustrated… I used to be able to write entire gamebook series in a year or two… but for what it's worth, I haven't completely dropped the project. The dying embers of the light are still there, somewhere… I just need to find a way to give them some fuel.

Hey Martin, a fan from Australia here! I had the good fortune of winning As#1 and #2 on eBay recently and have just finished playing through them both. What can I say- I am hooked! In my Facebook post I encouraged everyone in my Gamebooks Australia and New Zealand group to get copies (easier said than done- they are rather rare and it seems people really want to hold onto them rather than sell them!). I found them both fantastically open-ended with legitimate choices to make with regard to plot and moving through the landscape. I didn’t feel railroaded at all. Plenty of replayability which gives more value to the reader. The atmosphere you evoke is wondrous- all the confusion, vulnerability and innocence- not seen the like since “Flight from the Dark”- or probably even more “Grey Star the Wizard #1”- which I suppose is similar in that it was another writer moving through Joe Dever’s mythos. Anyway, great to hear you are still chipping away at all three remaining books- rest assured there are many of us keen to hear of Autumn Snow’s continuing adventures- meet the “female Banedon” you hinted at and just drink in the atmosphere a little more. I am not a creative writer but have written quite a few technical papers and studies (I am an archaeologist) so can relate a little to the Muse sometimes being absent from your shoulder- but I see you have written quite a lot of other books so you have met with and mastered this situation many other times before! From the fans in Australia dealing with the wildfire crisis- we could all use the escapism and joy that the last three books of your series will provide. Just as an aside I contacted August Hahn about whether he was still available to assist as he did for #2 - he said you were an absolute joy to work with!

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up (least of all my own), but I'm back at writing paragraphs… Fifty-something in the last two weeks… Book 4 almost done.

I unfortunately missed the original release of your books, but can't help be very intrigued by your series as it appears to be very highly praised. With a resurgence of interest in Lone Wolf now that books 29 - 32 are being published by Ben and Co., I wonder if Holmgard Press would consider publishing yours in the future? Anyway, best of luck with the continued writing.

Martin- that is fantastic news that “Book 4 is nearly complete”! Do you have working titles for Books 4 and 5? Is Book 3 still to be called “Slaves of the Mire”? Keep it up! I know a well regarded artist who may be willing to help!

Oddly enough, titles are not yet cast in stone... Here's what it looks like for now:
Bk 1 : The Pit of Darkness (already exists) Bk 2 : The Wildlands Hunt (not my favorite title, but something had to be chosen) Bk 3 : Slaves of the Mire (will not change) Bk 4 : Le Maître des Abysses (Ruler of the Abyss, Master of the Deep, something along those lines). Bk 5 : Will most likely end up as a two-parter. First part, La Guerre de la Lamentation or La Guerre de l'Éclipse (War of the Lament / of the Eclipse / something like that). Second part, La Citadelle des Glaces (The Ice Citadel doesn't sound so hot in English -- har har har -- so I'll try to think of something cooler -- double har har har).
Some info: Book 3 : Involves the Maakenmire and V'Ka. The plan is to find out if your Kai Master is still alive, and if so, rescue him. Danger will abound. Book 4 : The Kai has sent a ship to Durenor to help in a war with the resurgent Lakuri Pirates. Something went wrong and a letter summons you to Ryme. Predictably, you'll find yourself neck deep in intrigue in no time. Book 5 : The Drakkarim seem to be rebuilding an ancient shrine to Ishir. This is weird enough, but they came aboard the last surviving dreadnought from LW 12 and there's something about an upcoming eclipse which has everyone's panties in a bunch. It's an all-out return to Kalte as the final battle begins. I always liked Kalte.
So that's a small inkling of what's coming. I have not yet decided how they will be structured. As it stands, although all are almost-but-not-quite finished, Bk 3 clocks in at 480 sections, Book 4 is more like 520, and Book 5 has enough (over 600) to be split down the middle into a two-part adventure. I toyed with the idea of splitting the fourth one too, thus creating a seven-book series, but then I would need two more Kai Disciplines, which in turn would require alteration of the first two books. Another idea is to axe them all down to 350 sections, which I am understandably reluctant to do. Yet another option is to even them all out at 450, which would at least preserve the nostalgic something-hundred-fifty pattern.
But first, all their texts have to be finalized and I have to check their balance/playability, so I'll still be at it for a while... and then there's the translation.

Hey Martin
Thanks for the outline- it certainly builds the excitement! Regarding the number of entry numbers- as writing these things is an organic creative process I would suggest let it roll as required and just see where it ends up. From a player’s perspective the more options the better- the Fabled Lands and Steam Highwayman series often go up to 800! With anything creative the premise should be “better to add than take away” so rounding up to a 100 or 50 number might please an editor or publishing house more- but there is no law that says a gamebook series has to be consistent length throughout- I am sure I could find some with varying number of entries across books! But retaining the number of books for Kai skill progression sounds more important from the game mechanics perspective. Write as many entries as you want!

The Books of Grey Star themselves differ in length throughout the series: Books 1 and 3 have the classic 350 sections/entries Book 2 has only 310 And finally, Book 4 is the longest one with 360
