*outspaced casts ZAP followed by HOT in NS's general direction* Hey, at least you went easy on him, you could have cast ZED in his direction instead!

What does ZED actually do? I only played the first three Sorcery books, so I never got the chance to use it.

The ZED spell plays a major part in Book 4 unless you're playing a warrior who has never cast a spell at all during the Sorcery series! That's how important it is.

I knew it! I'm hopeless at remembering things, if only because I often remember the wrong things in preference to the right ones We're not even going to go into the appalling pun that is the merchant "Farren Whyde". But going back to the topic of this thread, Fighting Fantasy is not in any shape, way or form, easier that LW. Book 2 for instance is actually remarkably easy, ignoring the situation with Lord-Lieutenant Rhygar et al. Book 1 is another of the very quick ones. FF is all about "did you forget to pick up that item at the beginning of the book so you can't complete the book and we're all laughing at you now". NS. Edit: Guess which muppet has photographic spelling, works as a proofreader (amongst other things) and has an insanely quick typing speed, yet can't manage to spell "Lieutenant" correctly or notice before he sends the post?!

My guess was Scooter. . . I always remember lieutenant as a phrase about someone renting an apartment: Lie u tenant! An English teacher told me that and I've remembered it since elementary school. Silly I suppose, but it works!

Me, you morons! I once picked up "friend" as "Friday is the end of the week" and have never forgotten it. Then of course there are the mnemonics for the rainbow (Richard of York gave battle in vain), the musical scale (Every Good Boy Deserves Football) and the noble [inert] elements (KHRANX - Helium, Krypton, Radon, Argon, Neon and Xenon). NS.

When I grew up, it was "after dinner I do a ****"... Anyhow, let's go screaming back to the plot BEFORE Thomas shuts us down with extreme prejudice! FF is much easier to run than LW, but the plots are far more difficult to complete. NS.

What do you mean? All of those phrases could easily apply to fighting fantasy, and I think you've inadvertantly discovered a walkthrough for the first book!

When I grew up, it was "after dinner I do a ****"... NS. After dinner you do a show? What's so bad about that? ~Relenoir, who enjoys taking in a show after dinner, but still prefers LW to FF.
