Er, because alcohol isn't some hugely powerful narcotic (like Adgana or Heroin)?
And bear in mind:
Canon Lone Wolf can travel between dimensions without harm, walk on water, decontaminate spoiled food by touch (cf. the New Order Improved Disciplines)--I think with such control over himself and his surroundings avoiding being an alcoholic is, as they say, child's play.

Alcohol is a poison. Lone Wolf is immune to poison. Nuff said.

Then why is he not immune to other addictions? Can he get drunk? If "I am Lone Wolf" I would like to get drunk with the boys on occasion... Al

My way of thinking is that curing is a skill, not an natural capacity of some sort. I don't think that Lonewolf is immune to poison but a capacity to control it. So if he drink, he can get drunk if he do nothing about it. And for Adgana and other hard stuff, maybe he skill was not enough advance for the time. And is someone can tell me where we can find adgana in grand master series??

My way of thinking is that curing is a skill, not an natural capacity of some sort. Except that there are examples of him using it by sheer force of will, and Lone Wolf isn't exactly carrying around a first aid kit at all times (it'd be in his inventory if he was).

LW's Delivrance skills are so good since he reached the rank of Supreme Grand Master that alcohol is not even absorbed by his body. That must be good for him if he wants to join a drinking contest. I'm sure that it would also work with the hot-dog eating contest. FUN FACT: When I was reading this thread, there was a publicity for an online website for drug and alcohol addicts on the top of the page.

I seem to remember getting a bit drunk on bor brew on more than one occassion (not me personally), can't recall which books now, so alcohol did affect LW at some points in the books.

You can drink it both in Book 5 (on the Skyrider) and Book 7 (on the barge). I can't recall if it's available after that.

To continue the 'Messianic' theme of Lone Wolf, aside from being able to walk on water, he can also 'lay on hands' at later levels to restore health to others. Somehow, I can't imagine him carrying around a first aid kit big enough to cover all diseases/injuries, and nor can I believe his skills only apply to others: Kai Lord, heal thyself.

As an Archmaster, the Curing Discipline lets you 'repair serious wounds sustained in battle, whilst in combat if their End ( my book actually says CS) is reduced to 6 or less, they can use their skill to restore 20 End, can only do this once every 100 days.' It suggests to me a supernatural ability not a tactile (hands on) skill, unless there are a couple of wonder pills in that first aid kit, if so I'll be taking it next time I am going hiking...

Is there any reason that someone who like writing gamebooks and actually knows JD could not get his outline for them and them write them themselves and publish them on Project Aon? That would probably be the easiest way of getting the books out, would it not? Al

Joe has said recently that he's leaving books 29-32 for "his retirement". Whether he was joking or being flippant is anyone's guess! I wouldn't be too happy about reading a Ghostwritten "official" Lone Wolf book--look what happened to the Legends. And I guess Joe would prefer to have 100% control over the book himself. He could in theory have drafted in other authors at any time, the same way the Fighting Fantasy creators did, but in the Lone Wolf Club Newsletter 1993 New Year's Special he refers to 'inconsistent quality' with multiple authors writing a series, so I doubt he'd want anyone else to finish up the tales of Magnamund.
