Doomy, I believe the answer to your question is: Avenger!, Book 1 of the Way of the Tiger series, written by Mark Smith and Jamie Thomson.

Doomy, I believe the answer to your question is: Avenger!, Book 1 of the Way of the Tiger series, written by Mark Smith and Jamie Thomson. Exumptly right, my good sir! You will recall this dialogue comes up when you are disguised as a minstrel, trying to blag your way into Quench-Heart Keep in order to give baldy nutjob Yaemon a good hard kick in the happy sack. I thought you might get it quite easily, since my admiration for the Way of the Tiger books is now a matter of public record, but I thought it was time to give them a mention regardless. Anyway, over to you!

Cheers, Doomy. OK, here's an obscure one: - In which gamebook (Title, Author, Series, please) can you get to meet the actual author during the course of the adventure?
Have fun!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I seem to recall that happening in Zork. However, I'd have to look up the author, etc. Maybe later.

Have fun! That sounds familiar, but I don't think it was something I read. I think somebody told me it as some sort of 'hey, this was the funniest thing!' Something I must have heard about, but I don't have the vaguest idea of who or when or what book it was. Now, for my fiendishly devised question! In what city can you find Gallows Street?

Now, for my fiendishly devised question! In what city can you find Gallows Street? Ouch! It could be anywhere from Ragadorn to Tahou. But I'm pretty sure it's not Helgedad.

That wasn't the book I was thinking of (never read the Zork books). OK, I'll alter the question: In which gamebook that isn't a Zork adventure (Title, Author, Series, please) can you get to meet the actual author during the course of the adventure? ;D

I may be wrong, but isn't Gallows Street one of the alternative places you could end up while looking for Banedon's tutor Chiban?
NS.

There's a Gallows Street in Warwick, and another in Dromore, County Down. Do I win?

Have I outsmarted the smartest Gamebook minds on these boards? Should I post a clue?? Well, I can't speak for the gamebook experts on these boards, but this dabbler can't answer the question, anyway.
