As far as I am aware, there is no longer any way of obtaining paper books since Megara collapsed. They still sell PDFs I think, under a new company name, Brocéliande Éditions.
I did try to balance out the Kai Disciplines as best I could. I fully intend to stay true to the Kai Wisdom section — all Autumn Snow books will be winnable with CS 10, EP 20, and zero help from previous books, assuming the player knows the book well enough to avoid death traps and needless battles (so it might still be preferable to roll high numbers on your first attempt or two). For players used to maxing-out their stats because they have no choice, this might make Autumn Snow seem "too easy"… but then again, you won't lose by default as soon as you roll a 1 for CS.
Originally, I intended the 2-weapon rule to actually mean 2 weapons, magical or not, as I was not planning on giving Autumn Snow any massive balance-breaking god-swords ^_^. Also, I wanted to have a little fun by making one magical weapon of each type available somewhere in the series, in a way where all ten could theoretically be found in a single run. Achievement unlocked, and that sort of thing. However, it seems Joe Dever, in rewriting my book, decided all magical items should be Special Items. Which means Autumn Snow could ultimately carry twelve [fudge]ing weapons. Oh well, we'll assume the player just keeps the one that matches their Weaponskill and donates the others to the Monastery's collection. Maybe Lone Wolf can smelt them and make a spare Sommerswerd or something. ^_^
You can share walkthroughs if you want. I'm only allergic to that guy who posts every few days asking for "do me a guide". I mean, come on. There's no need for that, just play the book.

Thank you for fast reply!
I finally read all the 12 pages of this topic and I perfectly understand your lack of motivation in the previous years. The golden age of gamebooks is over, but you have one more fan now. I simply did not know your books. I am sorry if I am late to encourage you now that you did all the work already! You overcame your empasse anyway :-) If you want to share how you found the inspiration again, I'm curious.
You should consider developing AS into an app for tablets or Smartphones, or just add AS to Project Aon license, so that someone will develope this app for you to reach a wide audience. Maybe you won't get rich, but you'll have the glory. For many years I thought that a Lone Wolf movie or tv series would be the "next big thing" in the future. So who knows? It all depends on how many people are interested.
I am really glad you are working on AS 3-4-5 because I believe you have a good taste for writing gamebooks. 1) for this genre it is important to have an engaging story. I feel AS as a strong character but not too OP (difficult to achieve). Please always add variety on the enemies so that it does not become repetitive. 2) it is equally important to "make the game works". You can't write the rules and just break them. You need consistency. I find the first books perfectly tuned on difficulty level. 3) you took good inspiration from the first LW books, where you can die many times if you take wrong choices and not just because of bad luck. 4) probably the most important thing, you brought a sense of progress for the Main Character even in the Kai series. 5) items, many items!!! 6) choices, many choices!!! I believe you handled these things quite well in the first two books.
The only complaint I have is that you blasted my backpack at the beginning of AS2 and I can't get the Kriss without giving up the Psychic Diadem (no way in hell I'm gonna lose +1cs!) Work as intended?

Uh, I don't understand how getting the Kriss would force you to discard the Psychic Diadem. One's a Special Item, and even that particular Weapon, I would agree, could count as a legitimate Special Item. They're most certainly not Backpack Items. So unless you already have 12 Specials, you can keep both.

My bad, probably my walk through is wrong because I was not able to reach section 27 if I escape the ship (starting from section 73 then path to 264). After that I probably miss a link. If you go for the slave market path, you lose previous equipment, right?

I'm pretty sure you can end up at Viras Vuul's shop after escaping the ship, although I've done so many rewrites on that adventure that I've lost track of which paths can lead where.
Although yes, if you don't escape the ship, you lose the opportunity to find your old equipment again.

Thank you, I found the missing link at section 159. You have to kill the poor beggar at 348, something I regretted to do and I didn't explore fully this path. Soon after you arrive at node 237. According to my math, you can reach exactly 20 golds if you escape the ship, so you can buy the Kriss.

Not that I'm aware of. Feedback from the Book 3 playtesters never came, and I'm not aware of any progress on other fronts, although there may be things being worked out in the background that I'm not privy to.

Can I volunteer as play-tester? Are there any pre-requisites? Is it too late?

Prerequisites are reading French — it's not translated yet. And honestly, I'm pretty sure it's too late; I'd have to ask the guys at Scriptarium.

Oiseau - Just a quick note from me and my kids sending thoughts of thanks and encouragement for keeping the Autumn Snow series going! My daughter especially can't wait play through the rest of the adventures of our favorite female Kai Lord!

Encore bravo. Google translate (désolé ): Hello, I discovered the "autumn snow" series 2 months ago. I was able to order and receive the 2 books from the Brocéliande edition. I wanted to go back 30 years by reading my first "lone wolf". The atmosphere, the universe, everything is there but with a better balance of kai techniques. I think if you could have published these books at the height of “books of which you are the hero,” your series would have been very successful. Bravo to you and thank you for this lovely time that I had to read these 2 books. Hope you can edit the other 3 in book (or pdf) format as this series deserves follow-up. Well done again.

Although yes, if you don't escape the ship, you lose the opportunity to find your old equipment again. You can in fact end up in that shop after escaping the ship. I managed to get a paper copy of Autumn Snow 2 by shrinking the file size of the pdf and sending it to a printing company. And Megara is the Devil or at least the Devil's younger, stupider brother-in-law. To my certain knowledge they do not have the rights to several of the .pdfs that they sell. I am greatly happy to learn that AS 3, 4 and 5 are at least tentatively a go. I recall a couple of years ago sending the pdf copies of AS 1 and 2 to Ben Dever and urging him to find you with the idea of re-publishing/continuing the series. If the Scriptorium thing falls through you should still consider that option.

If you sent PDFs of Autumn Snow to Ben Dever and urged him to contact me years ago, and he never did, I guess that answers that.

If you sent PDFs of Autumn Snow to Ben Dever and urged him to contact me years ago, and he never did, I guess that answers that. Well, one thing he did tell me was that they were very much focused on his father's original series. Meanwhile, I had no idea that you were, well, you from this site.
