Yeah, well... That just shows how I'm out of the loop. I don't know from 'popular'. Bleh. My favorite music artists (now that you're FORCING it out of me), are Yello Jean-Michel Jarre Enya Enigma (older stuff) Natacha Atlas Popular stuff from the 70's and 80's Elvendrums (obviously! ) Anything odd, unusual and/or upbeat, really. I usually listen to this ambient band from Sweden called Sanchez (reminds me of a Silver Mt. Zion in the way the samples are done). Manowar and Blind Guardian are both really fun to listen to as well. Sometimes, oddly enough, Melt Banana works really well.

When I was originally going through the LW books, the Midnight Oil song "Beds Are Burning" was really popular where I lived. My poor, young mind began associating the song with Lone Wolf. While the song does have a tension that would do well for dramatic scenes, the lyrics are focused politically on a specific situation -- something my sheltered young American mind couldn't grasp at the time.
I was also thoroughly confused by the lyric of the song referencing "steaming 45 degrees." Being raised under the Fahrenheit scale, I was completely without any way to comprehend why 45F (about 7.2C) would be considered "steaming."

Yeah, I never got that either. . . but I thought they were a Native American band, and I haveseen steam rising from my skin in cold weather before.

Lemme give ya a couple that would be really well suited to Lone Wolf:
Narada's A Childhood Remembered The Orchestra Version of The Music from Final Fantasy Adventure
Major props to both of those.

Ahh, a fellow Manowar listener.
I just can't get into music when reading, but it sure helps when writing.

I would second the Conan soundtrack it is great for LW but I like The Last Of The Mohicans soundtrack even better. The first trak especialy entitled Elk Hunt really captures the sense that I get from Flight From The Dark fleeing through the forest hunted by the servants of the Darklords.
Recently I have been listening to Evernesence Fallen which I find good for LW as well. I've been listening to this recently while putting together LW material for my RPG group.

The LotR music is good and I also like the Conan theme. My group don't seem to like Mongoose's Lone Wolf much, but then theirs is really only a fan thing. *shrug*

I hate to say this (just in case any of my Lone Wolf RPG players read this forum... ) But to get into a "Lone Wolf" mood, I plop in music that was popular during the years I was reading Lone Wolf... Like...ohmygodIcan'tbelieveI'madmittingthis...Tears for Fears' "Songs from the Big Chair". That was pretty big when I picked up the first book. Oh, I feel so dirty now... ;D

Off the subject for a moment. . . Hey, speaking of music that was popular back then, I'm going to see Slaughter, Ratt, and Vince Neil on Monday! ;D I suppose that isn't entirely off-subject, since I usually have the "House of Hair" playing in the background on Saturdays when we play LW. Hosted by Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister and playing loads of eighties metal! ~Relenoir, a product of the eighties and proud of it! ;D

I wasn't even BORN until the LATE 80's, and I hate 80's music...
The only music I can stand is rap/hip-hop and R&B and some techno/electronic and pop...rock SUCKS.

You see, I can't stand all the styles that you listen to. I prefer good rock music: Bad Religion, NOFX, Green Day, Pennywise, Sum 41... but I don't see myself reading LW and listening to this kind of music either... I would start thinking of Lone Wolf trashing into a mush pit! ;D

Errgh...why does EVERYONE except me like that rock trash? All rockers should burn in hell. I say all rappers should burn in hell...I don't remember any rock singers that has to wear continuously a kevlar vest like some of the rappers has to. If rappers has to wear these vests, it's because sometimes they do bad stuff to other people (and I mean CRIMINAL stuff) and they are now scare for their lives. I don't say that they're ALL criminals, but they're not the kind of people that I would go drink a beer with. Anyway, just avoid to be obliged to wear a kevlar vest...we need you alive on this forum!
