Errgh...why does EVERYONE except me like that rock trash? All rockers should burn in hell. No, it's not just you, Banedon. Personally, I think all those particular rockers should be forced to get their hair cut and have a wash at least once a fortnight. I have to laugh when I hear the expressions "nu-punk" or "American punk music" because it's nonsense. Punk was a revolution calling for social change and societal reform through shock tactics, loud music, and short songs. It wasn't a whiny brat complaining about how hard his life is and how much he hates the world (because daddy is always working at the bank and 'mommy' is a teacher). Now if we're talking East Coast Punk--back in the day that was the American take on punk, and jolly good it was too. Talking Heads, Blondie, Ramones, et al. Blimey, I just realised that I sound much older than I actually am. No more music documentaries for you, outspaced. [Edit:] Of course, Black Cat has a point too. Rappers should be forced to donate their huge earnings to the places they grew up rather than whingeing about how bad they had it because no one helped and how they made money off dealing drugs.

I believe the thread is about 'what music people listen to while reading Lone Wolf books', not 'your music sucks'. ;D

Yeah, me and my friends drank in his memory last night, and we sang I wanna to be sedated too. But Never-Signing-In-Holmes is right: let's go back to the subject of this topic. Personally, I don't listen music while reading LW. I was doing it when I was younger with my radio right beside me, but I realised that it was more distracting than anything else, so now I just read the books quietly in my bedroom.

I stumbled into this site this weekend, and jumped immediately into Flight From The Dark ;D
The Theme from Schindler's List was playing at that time.....it made my re-reading of the Kai monastery massacre extremely poignant.....

The LOTR scores written by Patrice Deceuninck fit LW like a glove

Like Black Cat I don't really listen to music when I'm reading (having something like Motorhead on 10 volume makes concentration quite difficult).
But, if I did, I would probably play some kind of weird, dark ambient - Future Sound of London, Lustmord, Sephiroth, Biosphere, etc. I'm rather partial to some early/medieval music as well, which sorts of fits most fantasy.

I like lots of music as background music when I'm doing something else. I hate being bored, just listening to music while doing nothing else, and lyrics are distracting. Go music! NS.

I agree with that. I can't listen to music while I'm trying to read, but I do use music in the background for scene-enhancing effects when I play LW and other RPG's. I think I mentioned what music earlier in this thread, sometime about this time last year! Can't believe it's been so long. . . I miss the Wytch-king!

I PMed him about a week when I saw him online briefly. Apparently he was only checking PMs, which was rather self-fulfilling as he hadn't had any until I sent him one NS.

In my opinion, if they made music for the movie, they should use maybe a slow, light song, whenever Lone Wolf is in the Monastary, and during a Darklord battle, they should use an Amon Amarth song. They're a Viking death metal band from Sweden. Vonotar and Alyss... hm.... something with a great riff.... kinda spooky, kinda... well... no, not spooky. A Dream Theater song that moves very fast.... Except NOT Dream Theater, I think Joe and John should do the riffs themselves, to give the movie the sort of feel that it needs.... Ya know what I mean? I'm sure one o' you does. Oh well. My opinions kinda suck.

It isn't my cup of tea either. Did you get your complimentary pace maker and plastic heart valve? ;D Me? A kid? And Puff Daddy?? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! My taste in music has never been fashionable! I've always been a weirdo! And proud of it! When you can enjoy listening to songs sung in Welsh and Japanese--despite the fact that you can't speak either language--then you'll be a weirdo, my son. Puff Daddy?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Heck I listen to alot of music. Anything from death metal to J-pop, to country. Ever heard of Ayumi Hamasaki. She's great. HW BTW... PUFF DADDY?!! Ugh....

Heck I listen to alot of music. Anything from death metal to J-pop, to country. Ever heard of Ayumi Hamasaki. She's great. Nope, but I'll keep my eyes open on file-shar--erm, I mean "down the shops" (*wink*) for any of her songs. In return, I'll laud the songs of Gorky's Zygotic Mynci and Super Furry Animals, both groups who sometimes sing in Welsh. They're both excellent. Hey, Zipp, remember Urusei Yatsura? Not Rumiko Takahashi's breakthrough manga, but the Glaswegian lo-fi Indie rock band (known just as Yatsura outside the UK for legal and (c) reasons). Despite having split up a couple of years back, I can recommend them too. Urusei Yatsura: Lo-fi indie rock with a smattering of anime references--what more could anyone want from a band? (And three of the four members have since gone on to set up a new band called "Projekt Ako".) And obviously, there can be no talk of truly great music without mentioning The Smiths. I know, I know! ;D
