In book 5, when I was in Baga-Darooz, I swing the rope across the waters, then I had to discard it. The dialog stated "Select which rope to discard." (I currently had 2 ropes, so it is OK). But next, in section 14, after reclaiming my stuff, a searched the room for items. I have full backpack, and when I try to get some items, the dialog still appear "Select which rope ro discard." instead "Select which item to discard." And in the dialog I cannot choose items, because none of them are rope... And, maybe one suggestion. I also tried a "superhardcore" playing (Hardcore, but with CS 10 and EP 20). Is it possible to add a possibility to choose your own CS and EP? (It tooks long time to randomize both zeros ) So, you could: - 1) get CS and EP at random (BY THE BOOK)
- 2) CS 17, EP 23 (HARDCORE)
- 3) CS 15, EP 25 (HARDCORE)
- 4) CS 19, EP 29
- 5) CS 10, EP 20 (or choose your own combination)

Zoinks! Yeah, that's a bad one... I ran into that back in the beta testing period and thought I'd fixed it. Obviously not, though. I'll look into that tonight...
Good suggestion on 10/20... Perhaps I'll implement a method for the Hardcore stats where you get to simply type in the number you want to apply, 10 total points - up to 7 on each, for CS and EP. Then, if you wanted to, you could simply enter 0 and take the lowest stats possible. I'll try that out for the next version...

Hey, Dave, I'm playing the game on Super Easy Mode now and am trying Storage for the first time.
When I was playing BTB, I noticed that someone's suggestion that the Action Chart automatically flip to the relevant page when some status change happens has been implemented. Sweet, I thought.
And then I tried to put things into storage.
The problem now is that each time I click on Deposit, the Action chart flips to the backpack page. Betcha this happens with Withdraw too. This necessitates a lot of unnecessary clicking when dropping off or picking up a lot of items at once. So... is it possible to "switch off" the auto-flip function for Storage-related activities?

Ahh, good find. I currently have a "priority list" that opens the most important page that changed (since you could have more than 1 change at once). I obviously need to put the storage page at a higher priority than the backpack page...

Okay, The "Discard which Rope" bug is now fixed, and I've modified the behavior of the Action Chart so that when you are depositing or withdrawing from storage, it stays on that Action Chart page.
Any other bugs? I'll wait a little bit to release the next bugfix version to see if any other reports are forthcoming.

This is similar "discard dialog" bug...
In book 4, equipment section, I have full backpack from book 3. First, I picked up Chainmail waistcoat, then I tried to pick up Laumspur potions. A message appeared: "Your backpack is full", and when I clicked "discard an item" the dialog "Select which armor to discard".
It looks like a dialog initialization problem, and maybe you just have repaired it along with "Rope Dialog"...

I believe so, Honza. It appears to be the same problem, so it should be fixed. All discard dialogues are based off of one function call, so it should now work correctly regardless of the item type being discarded. (I think!)

Book 5 sections 81 and 166 - Limbdeath has made LW's left arm useless, causing a loss of 3 CS. This is handled correctly by the program.
However, the text also states that "you cannot use a shield of any sort" and I see that my shield is still equipped. Adding up the combat bonuses manually, I see that my equipped shield still confers its bonus.
Besides that bug report, I'd like to also offer up a suggestion: could we get a CS contribution breakdown when we hover our cursor over the Combat Skill box?
Also, a little reminder: when the shield issue is fixed, LW should be made able to use a shield again once he gets hold of Oede (section 2). Should the shield be auto-equipped?

The shield remains equipped, but I thought I had put a condition on the shield bonus that if you have limbdeath, it won't add it in in combat.
Perhaps I ought to work that differently, so that if you have a shield, it will be unequipped, and you can't equip it again until you have been cured. I'll look into that.

Also, good idea on the CS bonus tooltip... I think that would be fairly easy to implement...

Okay, CS bonuses tooltips are working well. The Shield properly unequips when getting limbdeath (and can't be equipped while you have limbdeath) and auto-re-equips when you cure it with Oede... Whew! I also traced down the problem with starting the program without setting the working directory... The game now also does all of the checking that I manually do, and if your game qualifies for the Hall of Fame, it tells you so at the end of book 5. You still have to send it to me, though, so I can double check it! But, at least you'll know that it really ought to be accepted without question. I also have implemented restart tracking - so if you die and restart a book(after book 1), it keeps track, and lets me know when I check the resumeX.dat file. If you make it without dying/restarting at all, you get to have a special star by your Hall of Fame entry. Of course, anyone wanting such an honor will have to use program version 1.5.1 or later and start at the beginning of book 1 (no picking up mid-campaign.) Is there anything else I need to fix before putting this next version out? Edit: too late if there is

Maybe one error: The program allows using multiple alether potions before a combat. Maybe it shouldn't (or it could be allowed only in custom rules possibilities).

Is there a rule somewhere that says you can only use one Alether potion before combat? I don't remember seeing anything like that, and it makes sense to me that if you wanted to consume greater quantities of a performance-enhancing drug, the effects would be increased compared to a smaller dose...
Is there any official word from JD regarding the matter?

Is there a rule somewhere that says you can only use one Alether potion before combat? The direct rule is for alether berries only, it is stated here. I suppose similar rule should be applied to potions.
