@ DF: You've never seen Father Ted? You've never lived . . .

I'm not big on TV, really. I'm more a movie guy.
[Edited to Include] I do watch some TV shows, but mostly seasons of TV on DVD. I'm pretty picky.

Can't say I'm much different myself when it comes to TV, but Father Ted is one of the funniest Britcoms (or Eire-coms) of the past 15 years. The same writers also contributed to the bitingly satirical The Day Today, and wrote the sublime sketch show Big Train, starring the inestimable Simon Pegg, who subsequenntly went on to co-write and co-star in Spaced, possibly the funniest (and slickest) Britcom of the past decade, and who has more recently co-written and starred in the excellent Shaun of the Dead RomZomCom movie. None of this is actually any help to my trivia question, but it is a chance to mention some of the funniest TV comedy to come out of Britain in years. Most TV in unwatchable pap, but there are exceptions to the rule, such as any documentary hosted by Adam Hart-Davis, any episodes of Sharpe, Red Dwarf, Room 101, Have I Got News For You, Jeeves and Wooster, any episodes of the three delightfully subversive Beiderbecke series--maybe British TV really is the best in the world!!

OK, a hint for my trivia question: Think Eurovision.
As for your question, MrE--that's a real doozy!

OK, I'll have to tell yus all, then. The answer is, the guy who sang the cheesy Eurovision entry My Lovely Horse from Father Ted was the same guy who provided lead male vocals on the opening humber of the Hitchhiker's film, So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish--a guy called Neil Hannon. A further link would be that Neil Hannon is/was in a band called The Divine Comedy; another member of the band, Joby Talbot, did the music for the Hitchhiker's film. So there!
MrE: Give us a clue!

As I'm in danger of killing off this thread I think I'd better. Said monster was never actually featured in an FF book, only Warlock magazine.

I may sound bitter here, but I think the best way to keep from murdering the thread is to ask more accessible questions. I'd think sticking with Lone Wolf stuff would help, since this is a Lone Wolf board, and you're more likely to find someone who finds the answer (no matter how obscure) than you are to find the answer to what you think is even a moderately easy FF question.

Nah, I disagree. People were earlier posting Trivia questions about Star Bores Wars, but FF being a gamebook series has far more in common with Lone Wolf. And I have to say, I'm really interested in the answer to MrE's question! It's probably something stupid like "Limahl", singer with mulleted 80s band Kajagoogoo. ;D That said, we probably should have a run of questions that people are likely to know or be able to find out. I've never even seen a copy of Warlock magazine! (Disclaimer: I don't actually dislike Star Wars, they're fun films, I just find its popularity bewildering. I bought the DVD boxed set, watched all three films, and thought: That's actually really shallow. Give me Krull or Hawk the Slayer any day.)

How are you disagreeing with me? I didn't say Star Wars was more on topic than FF--in fact, I didn't mention Star Wars at all. However, being as popular in geek culture as it is, there's usually a faction of people on any given forum who can answer Star Wars trivia.
What I did say--and what I mean--is that since this is a LW board, perhaps we should ask LW questions, since that is the unifying factor and really the only thing we can count on everyone having a fair chance at answering (except those damn NO questions--they're on topic, I just hate that I don't even have a shot at them).

The bit about 'sticking to Lone Wolf' was where I disagreed with ya. The original thread (a couple of months back) was the Gamebook Trivia Thread. I know, 'cos I prompted Doomy to start it after a couple of fiendish trivia questions popped up here and there (including PMs). And despite owning all the NO series, I really don't know the books at all well (blame Project Aon for taking my Lone Wolf-related time over the past 5 1/2 years), so I'm in the same boat as you, DF! Of course, the unanswerable Trivia Question would be: - What and when will the next Project Aon Release be?
But as it's unanswerable . . .

except those damn NO questions ...or questions about GM books which are not yet available on Project Aon. Been far too many of those recently.

At least they were widely available at one time.

I know it's not my turn, but since no one is actually answering any questions, here's mine:
How do Eruan Pathfinders salute?

Okay, I'll put everyone (or Outspaced anyway) out of their misery.
The mini-adventure The Dervish Stone in Issue 4 of Warlock (set in the Howling Desert of Khul) featured a race of cat-like humanoids known as.......LAUPERS. Sadly, they didn't just wanna have fun.

That was truly fiendish!! I guess you can ask another question, MrE, since no one got it. And we also have DF's question for those of you on the board who aren't sad gamebook fanatics.
